Saying Goodbye To The Kojo Nnamdi Show
On this last episode, we look back on 23 years of joyous, difficult and always informative conversation.
D.C. became the first jurisdiction in the nation to offer a non-binary gender option on drivers licenses. The policy change allows Washingtonians who don’t identify as either male or female to pick a gender-neutral ‘X’ instead of an ‘M’ or ‘F.’ While the new policy has been planned for months, it raises practical questions about how society at large can include gender non-conforming residents in a world that assigns gender from birth. Kojo explores these questions of identity, security and inclusion with Washingtonians who helped implement the policy and may be affected by it.
