Once a decade, lawmakers across the country get an opportunity to redraw the boundaries of their voting districts to reflect new census data. It’s a hyper-political process in which parties fight to stack the deck in their favor. Yet only one state has voted to put redistricting in the hands of an independent commission. We explore the coming redistricting battles, and why so few voters are paying attention.
