Bobby Short, who died this week at the age of 80, was arguably the preeminent cabaret performer of the 20th Century. An entertainer for more than seventy years, he went from cash-strapped child prodigy to icon of New York high society. We briefly remember the visit he and Kojo shared in 1999.
