Up until last week, supporters of the Purple Line felt confident construction would soon begin on the long-planned rail project to connect Prince George’s and Montgomery counties. But a dedicated group of neighbors just scored a major victory in court, one that may put the whole project in jeopardy. Proponents of the Maryland light rail line question the need for more delay, but a federal judge agrees with a group of neighbors who believe that the proposal deserves a second look. We talk with Chevy Chase residents about the environmental argument against the Purple line.
