Federal transit officials have issued a scathing report about the state of affairs at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. An inspection by the Federal Transit
Administration, one of several significant inquiries into Metro, found that the agency’s safety management system is understaffed and under-trained. We explore what changes might come as a result of the investigations into Metro – and what rail and bus passengers can expect in the meantime.
