On this last episode, we look back on 23 years of joyous, difficult and always informative conversation.
It wasn’t Little Rock, but it wasn’t ‘easy’ either. In 1959, with 99 police officers present, four young Arlington students became the first African Americans to attend classes at Stratford Junior High School. Fifty years later, we look at the history of Virginia’s “Massive Resistance” campaign, its legacy in our local community, and hear directly from some of the students whose names appear in the history books.
