Thousands of the world’s top athletes with disabilities have converged in Beijing for the 2008 Paralympic Games. The media coverage has been relatively scant compared to the frenzy at the Summer Olympics last month, but the athletes and organizers say the the competition is raising the profile of paralympic sport and disability issues. We look at some of the compelling storylines, and hear about efforts to increase participation among wounded American veterans.
