Technological progress often goes hand-in-hand with technological obsolescence. So what happens when today’s software and hardware becomes the equivalent of the wax cylinder or the 8 track tape? The National Archives is trying to answer that question, and figure out how to capture and permanently save electronic information regardless of its format.
