While well-known as a composer of incredible operas, nineteenth-century composer Richard Wagner is perhaps better-known for his controversial influence on a generation of German philosophers, cultural critics, and politicians, most notably, Adolph Hitler. Wagner’s great-grandson Gottfried joins Kojo to discuss his legendary ancestor, and Gottfried’s crusade against the hatred and racism he knew as a child.
