Thirty years ago, in the wake of riots in city streets, the presidentially appointed Kerner Commission concluded that, as a nation, we were moving towards two societies, “one black, one white, separate and unequal.” Kojo speaks with members of the commission about cities today, which they say are populated more variously and suffering more quietly.
