12/3: A Kojo Roadshow on Amazon’s New Headquarters in Northern Virginia

By Margaret Barthel

Your response to this event has blown us away! Registration is now closed, but you can hear highlights from the discussion on WAMU 88.5 FM on Wednesday, December 5, at noon. You can also leave us a comment or tweet to #KojoAmazon with your questions or thoughts. Thank you for your interest!

After a lengthy bidding process, tech giant Amazon chose Northern Virginia as the site of one of two major new headquarters on the East Coast. The move will bring as many as 25,000 jobs to the Washington region in the next twelve years, but residents are already expressing concerns about rising housing prices, stress on local transportation networks, changes in the character of the local area, and more.

Join WAMU 88.5’s Kojo Nnamdi for a town hall-style discussion about how local officials, businesses, and community members in Northern Virginia and the region are reacting to Amazon’s decision.

An edited recording of the event will air on WAMU 88.5 FM later in the week.

When: December 3, 6-8 pm; recording will begin promptly at 6:30 pm
