On one front, legislation is moving through the General Assembly that would affect taproom operations at local breweries.

On another, one of the biggest players in all of beer is moving to open a production brewery soon in Baltimore County: Guinness. It brings up the question – why is Maryland an attractive place for a parent company as large as Diageo to set up operations for one of its best-known brands?
