Time for a simple district geography lesson. Where is Anacostia?

Seems simple, right? It’s a neighborhood east of the Potomac River. While that’s not incorrect, many local residents say there’s a common misconception that Anacostia is the neighborhood across the Potomac, instead of one of the many communities that comprise Ward 8. Take a second look.
