Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer sparked an uproar last week when she said employees at her company would no longer be able to work from home. In a country where a growing number of workers telecommute, some said the move was unfair and unwise, while others applauded her effort to build an in-person culture of innovation. Telecommuting also helps with business recovery. You don't know what you don't have to conduct business until you've practiced working at home.
Secondly, it helps reduce the cost of office space and equipment.
Thirdly, it helps reduce traffic congestion and energy consumption by both employers and employees.

It is wonderful that we are talking about this! As we change our collective outlook on working from home, maybe we can change our views about how and where we educate our children. If this is the technology available now to help work continue and even excel from outside the office, when can we begin trusting out children to do the same?
