Peter Sís: Art & the Human Journey

Peter Sís: Art & the Human Journey

Meet Peter Sís, the Czechoslovakian-born MacArthur Award-winning artist, filmmaker, and illustrator who has worked with with talents as diverse as Bob Dylan, Maurice Sendak, and Jackie Onassis.

Almost 30 years ago, Czechoslovakian-born artist Peter Sís came to the US to create an animated film about his country's participation in the Olympics. Soon after, he defected -- and the rest is literary and art history. He joins Kojo to discuss his life, and his latest illustrated work, a book based on a 12th century Persian poem, which is as appropriate for children as it is for adults.
