Movement or Moment? Anti-Wall Street Protests in Washington

With the spread of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement to Washington and other cities across the country, we probe the message and the method for spurring change.

With protesters camped out in McPherson Square and Freedom Plaza in Washington -- and in other cities across the country -- we explore the message and the method behind the Occupy Wall Street movement. Who are the protesters, what do they want, and how does their "occupation" compare with other protests in the history of the city and the nation?

Surprised to be one of the first to comment given that this program aired earlier. Kojo Nnamdi was (as usual) an excellent radio-host for this type of thoughtful discussion on important current events like the anti-Wall St movement. Looking forward to a rebroadcast.

WAMU's quality exploration of important news & events in our society is almost worth putting up with their Fall pledge campaign. Keep up the reporting! The success or failure of America's sense of opportunity in this century may depend upon it.
