Since the shooting spree at Fort Hood, speculation has been rampant about the alleged gunman's motives. Was Army Major and Psychiatrist Nidal Hasan an "Islamic Terrorist Hiding in Plain Sight"? The answer to this question lies in how the media covered the mass shooting that happened THE VERY NEXT DAY. Nowhere in that particular news story was the shooter's religion identified, nor was it even made relevant to the story. The only time the media feels it necessary to highlight a criminals religious affiliation is when the crime is committed by a Muslim. There is a reason for that.
