This situation is overwhelmingly sad for our society and yet we clearly do not have viable solutions on crime prevention. Clearly imprisonment is not a deterrent. I find my logical mind and my conscience in conflict with one another. From what I hear on the local Baltimore news, life in prison isn't so bad considering our legislators are trying to find solutions on how to block prisoners cell phone usage. They also get 3 meals a day, sleep warm/cool at night and on a reasonable bed. This seems grossly unjust to people (many children) who have committed no crime but wonder where they will get their next meal or how they will keep their children warm at night.

As I get older I find it increasingly difficult to sympathize with prisoners. Should I care if they are crowded?
