Literacy in DC

Listen Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004 at 12:06 p.m. in Education

It's a disturbing statistic -- some 37% of city residents need literacy training or adult education. We look at some of the programs currently offered with federal and local government funds, and ask about research showing a direct link between poverty and low literacy rates.

Audio archives, transcripts and CDs will be available approximately 15 minutes after the program ends.

Guests

Ms. Jerry Johnson

Assistant State Director, UDC State Education Agency
