Shaking The Tree

Listen Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003 at 1:32 p.m. in Arts & Culture

In the 1970's, women like Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, and Alice Walker provided new perspectives on race, gender, and relationships. Now a new anthology seeks to identify the next generation of black women writers who will challenge America's literary landscape.

Audio archives, transcripts and CDs will be available approximately 15 minutes after the program ends.

Guests

Meri Nana-ama Danquah

author and editor, "Shaking The Tree: A Collection of New Fiction and Memoir by Black Women" (Norton)
