When the news broke about WikiLeaks' publication of thousands of diplomatic cables, much of the coverage focused on information related to volatile countries like North Korea and Iran. But the the cables included information about countries that aren't routinely in the news, too, from Nigeria to Sudan to Zimbabwe.

Washington Post education reporter Bill Turque sat down with newly elected Washington Teachers Union president Nathan Saunders last week to discuss Saunders' vision for the future. Outgoing WTU president George Parker had told Turque previously that Saunders' election would mean "gridlock and confrontation" for the organization, and Turque questioned Saunders on his choice to emphasize job security and union democracy over student well-being.
