Just several decades ago, farms lined the road that connected Rockville to Washington, DC. But as the post-war construction boom subsumed Montgomery County, Rockville Pike became a massive retail destination with strip malls lining the road on both sides for miles. Both the City of Rockville and Montgomery County see a lot of potential for redevelopment and have an eye to add more transit options to one of the busiest corridors in the county. We talk with local planners and architect Roger Lewis about the vision for Rockville Pike.
