D.C. Public Schools Chancellor Kaya Henderson’s proposed budget includes a number of significant changes, including implementing a year-round calendar in some struggling schools and expanding the number of alternative schools. D.C.P.S. also aims to change how it trains and evaluates teachers, including adding student surveys. We speak with Chancellor Henderson about these changes and how teachers are reacting.
