"Word of mouth" recommendations are a fairly reliable way to find the best restaurants or hair dressers. The key, of course, is finding a a trustworthy unbiased observer. We look at whether today's online reviewer websites - like "Yelp" and "Epinions" - can be trusted or are they just another prong in the emerging world of online marketing.

Great topic. I find that developing a network with food bloggers, sites like Yelp.com and others helps me (and others) make a decision based on people who you connect with. its hard to connect with a sometimes snobby review from the New York Times (of course yelpers could be snobby too). Business owners better embrace these communities in a social media world or they will be left behind
