When organizers first celebrated "Earth Day" in 1970, the idea of "going green" was confined primarily to environmental activists. Today, rising energy costs and popular culture have raised consciousness about environmental issues. But some feel it's rendering many green ideas meaningless. We look at the significance of Earth Day.
