Debate holds a special place in the history of American academia, particularly among historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). But many worry that the tradition is fading, as debate programs languish. One hundred years after the first debate between HBCUs, we learn about efforts to revive collegiate programs, and expand the tradition to local high schools and middle schools.
