Marin Alsop and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra

Listen Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at 12:06 p.m. in Arts & Culture

It was described as a "shattering of a glass ceiling" in American classical music. When Marin Alsop was named conductor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra she became the first woman to lead a top-ranked American orchestra. Now, several weeks after taking to the podium for her inaugural concert, Alsop speaks with us about classical music and the future of the BSO.
