"Is Bill Cosby Right?"

Listen Wednesday, May. 11, 2005 at 1:06 p.m. in Society

Comedian Bill Cosby ignited a firestorm last year when he turned a speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of 'Brown v. Board of Education' into a sharply critical lamentation of the parenting skills and values of some in the African American community. Now, humanities professor and scholar Michael Eric Dyson rebuts Bill Cosby and examines the stereotypes he says undermine many of the racist and elitist arguments on the subject.

Audio archives, transcripts and CDs will be available approximately 15 minutes after the program ends.

Guests

Michael Eric Dyson

author, "Is Bill Cosby Right?: Or has the Black Middle Class Lost Its Mind?" (Perseus); and Professor of Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania
