The world’s most powerful leaders in business and politics met last week at their annual retreat in Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum. On the other side of the world, at the same time, roughly 100,000 left-leaning activists converged in the southern Brazilian city of Porto Alegre for the alternative World Social Forum. We explore the hot topics of discussion at both events, and why there is a surprising degree of overlap.
