When Britain returned the colony of Hong Kong to China a few years ago, Chinese officials promised to allow Hong Kong considerable political and economic autonomy. But recent reports out of China now say that Hong Kong will not be allowed to continue with its elections planned for 2007. A look at the future of democracy in this region.
