Obama's First Pardons as President

Last week, we explored the history of presidential pardons and looked at how President Obama has approached the process.
Up until Friday, December 3, President Obama had pardoned more turkeys than people. But on that day, the president granted the first 9 pardons of his term.
Washington Post writer Erica Werner noted that the president granted the pardons to people who were not well-known, and, in some cases, their crimes were fairly minor.
